Show vs. Tell Writing

PSAT Prep
For students taking the PSAT, please look at the PSAT Prep Packet.  The packet contains lots of important information about the test including sample problems and other guidelines.  Look over carefully before you test on the 14th.

LTI Project Guidelines
We are going to introduce you to the LTI project guidelines.  Continue to work on building your resume and begin thinking about where you would like to intern.  We want to show you the guidelines and rubric for the project you will complete at your internship.  Once you interview and get an internship begin thinking of a project you can do at your site.  Please look at the following LTI guidelines and project rubric, there is also a sample powerpoint template to give you ideas for your presentation.

Show Vs. Tell Writing
Today we will work on a very important writing skill; the ability to show your reader something through your writing rather than explicitly telling them.  This skill can give the reader insight into your settings, characters, and their emotions.  It makes your story more interesting, dynamic, and longer.  We will discuss how to do this and do some creative writing.  Then we will practice by filling out the following Show vs. Tell handout.  The handout will be due on Wednesday (10/7) at the start of English class.
